Come and join our team as a Document Retention Admin Assistant! This role offers you the chance to use your attention to detail and skills of discernment to selectively save or destroy documents. You will work with confidential information, and decide what needs to stay, and what should go. We are eager to welcome you to the team!

HERE IS WHAT YOU WILL GET TO DO IN THIS ROLE:
Sort and categorize paper files according to established guidelines, ensuring accurate classification.
Scan physical documents and organize them in our digital files.
Use wisdom and discernment to determine what we need to keep, and what can go.
Shred documents or mark them for destruction, keeping our files tidy and confidential information safe.
Support Christian churches and charities by contributing your skills to CCCC’s initiatives and performing meaningful work to those who need it.

You understand how to follow guidelines and make decisions around what kinds of documents we need to keep and what can be disposed of.
Detail-Oriented
You can skim documents quickly to gain enough information to make a good call on what to do with it.

You keep your workspace tidy, to make sure you are always working efficiently.
Trustworthy
You are able to work with confidential documents and information and can be trusted to keep the information you have access to private at all times, even after your employment ends.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience or coursework in office administration, records management, or a related field.
- Strong organizational skills with a focus on detail-oriented work.
- Ability to quickly learn and adhere to specific guidelines.
- Proficiency with basic computer skills and familiarity with scanning processes.
- Commitment to following security and confidentiality protocols.
- Experience working with Christian charities as an employee, professional service provider, or volunteer
- The ability to grasp new concepts quickly and confidence in ability to grow (continuous learner)
- Strong interest in serving people and solving problems
- Must possess a valid G2 or G driver’s licence and own vehicle
To comply with the Canada Summer Jobs program, you must also:
- be between 15 and 30 years of age at the beginning of the employment period
- be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person to whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act for the duration of the employment
- have a valid Social Insurance Number at the start of employment and be legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with relevant provincial or territorial legislation and regulations
COMPENSATION
$19/hour, 35 hours a week, for 8 weeks. This position is supported through the Canada Summer Jobs Program. Mileage for work travel is reimbursed.

LOCATION AND HOURS
This position will be working at our main office (55 Erb St. E, unit 301, Waterloo, ON), travelling to our off-site storage. Full time hours (35 hours per week: Mon. – Fri. 9 am – 5 pm EST)
