Kids On Track is recruiting a new Executive Director to lead the organization. This is a significant and exciting opportunity to steward the mission of Kids On Track and lead the organization into its next season of growth and impact.
About the Role
The Executive Director holds a key leadership position in the organization. Under the authority of the Board of Directors, the Executive Director is responsible for leading the vision and direction of Kids On Track.
This role carries both organizational and spiritual leadership responsibility. The Executive Director provides spiritual oversight to the organization, while also overseeing the implementation of programs, services, policies, and procedures, and leading all staff and volunteers.
Summary of Responsibilities
- Provide spiritual oversight, leadership, and wisdom to the organization
- Oversee day-to-day operations of the organization
- Serve as the key face and voice of Kids On Track in the community
- Recommend and implement policies adopted by the Board
- Hire, delegate, supervise, evaluate, and release staff
- Attend all Board meetings and support Board committees
- Serve as a professional consultant to the Board and its committees
- Lead and oversee fund development activities and plans
- Engage in strategic planning in partnership with the Board
Qualifications
Education
- Post-secondary education in a related field
Experience
- Leadership experience required; nonprofit experience considered an asset
- Fund development experience, including donor relations and grant writing
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Understanding of leadership and management principles in a nonprofit environment
- Knowledge of federal and provincial legislation affecting charities
- Awareness of community challenges and opportunities related to children, youth, and families
- Understanding of family- and youth-centered programming
- Knowledge of human resources management
- Understanding of financial management processes
- Experience in planning and implementing projects and events
- Understanding of fundraising principles and practices
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with QuickBooks or donor management software is an asset

- A committed follower of Jesus Christ with a personal and active faith
- Demonstrates spiritual maturity, wisdom, and discernment
- Understands this role as a ministry position of Christian service
- Aligns with the mission, values, and Statement of Faith of Kids On Track
Compensation
$71,625 to $82,260 based on experience.
Employer-paid benefits.
Paid vacation leave and additional personal days.
Start Date
As soon as possible, with flexibility for the successful candidate.
