  • The Executive Director reports to the BridgeNorth Board.
  • The board delegates authority to the Executive Director to manage BridgeNorth.
  • The Executive Director is expected to abide by and implement the policies of BridgeNorth.
  •  The Executive Director is expected to follow the Financial Stewardship policy as set out by the Board.
  • The Executive Director is responsible for the consistent application of HR policies.

Primary purpose:


The Executive Director (ED) is recruited by the Board of Directors to ensure the effective day to day operations of BridgeNorth ensuring strong administrative management and ongoing financial stability. The ED also partners with the Founder and Director of BridgeNorth to provide strategic oversight and drive required for the charity to continually focus on its mission of restoring the inherent dignity and value of sexually exploited women and girls by meeting their physical, mental, emotional and spiritual needs.

Describe the main accountabilities of this position:


Manage and/or direct:

  • Office Administrator and Volunteers
  • Development of operating and capital budgets
  • Fundraising efforts to secure private and public sector funding for the operation and growth of BridgeNorth
  • Development of short & long-range research for BridgeNorth
  • Operations of Facility
  • Human Resources

Partner with the Founder and Director

  • In key communication to critical stakeholders and external parties
  • in the development of policies and programs
  • in the development, implementation and measurement of clear outcome metrics
  • to knowledge share with partners and other organizations with aligned goals and objectives
  • in Public Education and Awareness efforts




  • Pertinent undergraduate degree / training / accreditation


  • At least 5 years previous leadership and management experience
  • Experience of leading teams to meet key objectives or targets
  • Fundraising / Grant application expertise
  • Demonstrated experience in meeting deadlines or targets
  • Strong interpersonal skills with strong networking and influencing skills
  • NGO or charitable workplace experience preferred


  • A proven leader who can inspire, influence and deliver results
  • A confident communicator who promotes BridgeNorth’s culture and values at all times
  • Strong organizational development and strategic planning skills
  • Human resource management skills
  • Able to work in a flexible and changing work environment
  • MS Office Product Suite and general aptitude with technology


  • Must be able to give both verbal assent to and practical demonstration of BridgeNorth’s Statement of Faith and Core Values

Work environment:

The incumbent is expected to work from the BridgeNorth office which is located in Newmarket, Ontario.


Overarching objectives of BridgeNorth

  • to deliver counselling, mentorship & prevention training to girls and women caught in the sex industry [Direct Service &Mentorship]
  • to provide public education on the subject of human trafficking and sexual exploitation [Public Education & Awareness]
  • to effectively speak up for those who cannot speak for themselves, from talking with people one on one all the way up to speaking before the federal government [Advocacy]
