Context

Our vision is to become a missional church of 10,000 meeting the emotional, physical, and spiritual needs of people in Jesus’s name. The following staff position is critical in helping Sanctus execute on the fulfillment of that vision.

Role

The Executive Pastor of Ministries will be a key leader on the Senior Leadership Team of Sanctus Church, directly reporting to the Senior Executive Pastor. The successful candidate will oversee and strategically lead a team of pastors and ministry leads, in alignment with Sanctus’ visionary leadership. The candidate will be responsible for the following churchwide ministries: Central Ministries (Guest Services, Serve Team Engagement, Alpha, Local and Global Engagement, Connect Groups); Next Gen Ministries (Kids, Youth and Young Adults); and Prayer Ministries (Restoration Prayer and development of a church wide prayer culture). 

• To be and become a fully devoted follower of Christ and live with character and integrity. 
• To be fully aligned and working towards the mission and vision of Sanctus Church and embody the staff values.
• To demonstrate spiritual maturity and ability to lead in a growing church environment.
• To be a leader of leaders; galvanizing, training, and empowering our pastoral and ministry leads staff, working primarily from the Sanctus Ajax site and visiting other sites on Sundays when necessary.
• Opportunity to be a key preaching voice at Sanctus church if aligned with spiritual gifts. 

• Ministry oversight: Provide directional leadership, professional development, and pastoral support to the pastoral team that oversees guest services, volunteer engagement, Alpha, local and global engagement, Connect Groups, Next Gen Ministries (including Kids, Youth, and Young Adults), restoration prayer as well as local prayer.
• Support and approve ministry strategies developed by direct reports, ensuring alignment with Sanctus Church’s mission, strategic goals, and discipleship priorities.
• In alignment with Sanctus’ Convergence theology, research and develop an engaging and nurturing discipleship program that encompasses Sanctus’ Discipleship Dimensions: Celebrate Big, Connect Small, Share the Work, Engage in Mission, and Walk with Jesus. 
• Monitor key metrics of ministries above, assessing opportunities for growth.Collaborate with the Senior Leadership Team and broader staff to provide strategic leadership, support church-wide initiatives (e.g., conferences), and help implement the vision in a unified team environment.
• In collaboration with the Executive Director Creative Communications, ensure central ministries’ alignment with communications standards and strategies. 
•  Lead the planning and management of the annual ministry budgets within your area of oversight.
• Grow into a key teaching voice that contributes to the spiritual formation of the church. 
• Work closely with the Senior Executive Pastor on ad-hoc pastoral projects and other pastoral duties as required.

• University and seminary degree desired.
• Preference will be given to candidates with the following profile:
• 5+ years of experience in a ministry role
• Proven experience with managing paid staff
• Familiarity with Sanctus Church
• Experience working in a multi-site, large church context is an asset
• Experience in a fast-paced, high-caliber team environment is an asset
• Able to provide a minimum of 3 character and professional references.

• Some combination of Leadership, Teaching, Exhortation, or Shepherding. Other gifts are welcome.
