Position Summary

The Media & Communications Director will oversee all aspects of communication and media output for Movement Church. This includes video production, graphic design, website updates, social media management, and strategic marketing. The ideal candidate will be a Christ-following creative professional with a heart for ministry and an eye for excellence.

Key Responsibilities

Weekly Media & Communications Tasks

  • Edit weekly sermon videos from livestream
  • Create sermon series thumbnails for YouTube
  • Change church sign every Sunday afternoon
  • Schedule and send Mailchimp “Mid-Week Motivation”
  • Update church website weekly with events, sermon links, homepage content
  • Manage church-wide social media content and branding
  • Schedule daily social media posts (1–2 per day)
  • Post sermon recap clips and weekly Sunday invite videos
  • Edit sermon for church podcast
  • Maintain consistent visual branding across all digital platforms
  • Use Text In Church for church-wide messages and reminders

Creative Design & Video Production

  • Create graphics for sermon series, church-wide events, and ministry needs
  • Design print materials for mail-outs, signage, and internal communications
  • Film and edit promotional and recap videos for events and sermon intros
  • Film testimonial videos for sermons or water baptisms 
  • Ensure all visual content reflects the heart and excellence of Movement Church
  • Oversee and lead social capture team

Collaborative Planning & Strategy

  • Collaborate with pastors and staff to plan and execute media for church events
  • Assist with creative direction for sermon series and seasonal campaigns
  • Contribute ideas to enhance the church’s communication strategies
  • Assist with Sunday morning prep and ensure visual/media readiness

Additional Responsibilities

  • Maintain digital asset organization (graphics, templates, video archives)
  • Monitor trends in social and digital media to implement innovative ideas
  • Track social/email analytics to improve engagement
  • Help manage presentation software (e.g., ProPresenter)
  • Oversee or coordinate Livestream and production team

Qualifications

  • Strong graphic design skills (Adobe Creative Suite or similar tools)
  • Proficient in video editing (Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, or equivalent)
  • Experienced in social media platforms and content scheduling tools
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Organized, efficient, and self-motivated
  • Familiar with Mailchimp and website platforms (e.g., Squarespace, Wix, WordPress)
  • Photography and basic lighting/editing knowledge a bonus

Reporting & Hours

  • Reports to: Worship Pastor or Lead Pastor
  • Hours: 40 hours per week (Sundays and some evenings required)
  • 2 weeks Paid vacation days after the first year
  • 2 paid shutdown weeks (1 in July and 1 in December)
  • Enrolment in churches benefit packages
  • Eligible in RRSP matching contribution after probation
  • Starting Salary range $50,000 to $55,000
